    Happy almost Friday!

Today I had some business in Dallas. I love important meetings (ahem.)

Anyway- getting back to last night. Poor Zach.

He was up a lot and I think it was because of his tooth pain. The two top chompers are coming in. My heart breaks every time I hear his little cry. After taking your advise, I broke out the Hylands teething tablets. I placed two under his tongue. They dissolved instantly. I rocked him, sang to him, rocked him some more, and after about 25 minutes, he was out cold.

    our new bf

I’ve also been giving Zach frozen waffles to suck on which he loves. Frozen bananas in those meshy sticks work well too. Anything that is cold has been my saving grace lately.

This afternoon we went to Babies R Us and bought a mesh bumper. I know, exciting.

Zach has definitely hit the “I hate when my mom leaves the room, sits me down or puts me to bed” stage. Up until a few weeks ago, it was smooth sailing but now Zach has it all figured out. He knows when it’s time to go to bed, take a nap or when he needs his diaper changed, the crocodile tears start flowing. He loathes anything that requires me to put him down.

    With that being said…

After our fun trip into Babies R Us, we went to Homegoods and than dinner at Central Market (similar Whole Foods up north.) I figured, what the hell, I don’t feel like cooking, Zach was in good spirits, I had his food with me, let’s eat out. So we did.

there's a lot going on here

I got the tilapia salad with a side of green beans. Zach tried the tilapia and green beans. He seemed to like both. #Win.

Zach uses both hands to feed himself. Obviously we have a serious {cute} eater on our hands.

Miles stole Phoebe’s soccer ball. Look how sad Phoebs looks. After Zach got on the floor and started crawling over to them, Miles let the ball go and Phoebe stole it back. Good girl!

Hope you’re having an awesome week so far. TGIF!

The past two days I’ve made a conscious effort to not eat shit eat light. Down 3 lbs. Water weight but whatever, I’ll take it.

Exercise: 45 mns elliptical, 10 mns of free weights (10 lbs.)

Breakfast 8:30: toasted english muffin topped with 1 wedge of laughing cow cream cheese. Half a cuppa coffee.

I met Sarah at Starbs at noon. I had my usual, tall soy sugar free peppermint latte.

Lunch @ 2:30: low fat turkey with 1 wedge of laughing cow on an everything bagel thin. Same as yesterday. Green apple on the side.

Dinner (7pm) big salad topped with an Amy’s Texas burger. I added a blue cheese crumbles, onion, tomato, cucumber and carrots. Lite honey mustard.

Dessert (7:30) 1 cup butter pecan ice cream. Edy’s, you rule.

*Would it be helpful to you if I started including the times I ate? I know when I read other bloggers’ meal recaps, I like to know how long they go in-between meals.

Thoughts? Leave a comment if you’d like me to start doing this.

    I Love…

    Posted in: Food, Shopping

    Hello there!

I would just like to say once again how much I love Texas. Here’s why-

    • everyone is beyond nice- so polite, generous, and they even ask you how your day is going. I make friends everywhere I go because Texans are so easy to talk too.
    • the weather is amazing and for the record, I don’t mind the heat. If one more person says “just wait until August.” I get it, it’s hot, I’m all about it.
    • There’s a Sonic every 2 miles
    • no state income tax
    • fabulous shopping and great restaurants
    • we live close to everything
    • cowboy boots and country music!!
    • frozen yogurt at every corner
    • tons of attractions/events/things to do with the family and kids.
    • Gateway church. Where do I begin? It’s brought me closer to God.
    • Texans are so proud of their state as they should be. It’s an incredible place to live.

We seriously feel like we’re on vacation, when in reality we live here. #win.

With the sun out 99% of the time, getting my vitamin D is not a problem.

    Hello God!

When Zach naps, I take advantage.

Before my sun sesh, I was at Target (shocker.) Below is the exact journal I use to track my daily eats. I get a lot of questions asking what type of notebook I use. I’ve only found these particular ones (Markings) at Target. They’re like $7. For a while Target wasn’t carrying them. Thank God they are now. I was getting nervous. Every time I see them, I buy two, I have at least 3 years worth of new journals stashed away. #planner

I love these notebooks because they’re the perfect size and hold exactly 6 months worth of food records. Some people have asked why I just don’t use one of the hundreds of apps on my iphone. Dude, I’m old school. I have to write everything down, take notes, record weigh-ins, track workouts. No app for me.

My point is, if you journal or want to start, these nifty notebooks are what I use. I’ve been for years. Love.

And while we’re on the subject of food, big thanks to the awesome people at Lara Bar for sending me four of their new UBER BARS. They’re sweet and salty with big chunks of yummy fruit mixed in. That’s intense. Bananas foster, you’re all mine tomorrow morning!

I better eat hide these before Stu gets a hold of them.

I have 5 episodes of Pregnant in Heels to catch up on- off to watch. Have a great night!

My brother sent this to me and after reading the first few lines, I knew I had to pass along. The next president hopefully not Obama needs to “allow” the Pledge of Allegiance back in schools. That should be one of the first things they do, in my opinion.

    New Pledge of Allegiance

Since the Pledge of Allegiance & The Lord’s Prayer Are not allowed in most Public schools anymore because the word ‘God’ is mentioned…..A 15 year old kid in Arizona wrote the
    following:

    NEW School prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
    Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
    That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.

We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks…
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed Daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take! Amen

If you aren’t ashamed to do this, Please pass this on..
Jesus said, ‘If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of
    you before my Father.’
    Not ashamed. Pass this on.
