    Happy Friday!!!

I was up at the crack this morning to take my mom-in-law to the airport. It was sad to see her go. My house is silent right now and it feels strange. The dogs are passed out in their bed, Zach is napping, and Stu is playing tennis.

    Tea time?

On the way back from the airport Z and I stopped at Starbs. I was so in the mood for a pumpkin spice latte. Unfortunately it doesn’t come out until next week, Sept 4th. I ended up getting my usual; a sf caramel soy latte. I only drank half out of sheer disappointment- I was craving that damn pumpkin spice.

When we got back home it was time for breakfast. Zach inhaled a bowl of oatmeal and a side fruit, while I had a toasted english muffin with pb and banana with chia seeds. We played for a bit and then Z went down for his morning nap. While he snoozed, I hit the elliptical and managed to bust out 45 mns and take a shower. Major accomplishment!

Julie at peanutbutterfingers.com came up with a great elliptical workout plan. I did this twice and cooled down for 5.

By the time I was done showering, Zach was wide awake. More playtime, followed by a snack, followed by a trip to Sonic Target. We were in need of a bigger toy basket. I’m all about putting his toys in baskets (thanks to HGTV magazine for the idea.) I don’t want everything scattered all over the house. Sorry, but this ain’t Romper Room. Having a million toys out looks sloppy and I really don’t want to risk tripping on a truck while I’m pregnant. No thanks. Luckily, Zach digs the basket concept. He loves pulling his toys out himself. We’re all about being independent these days (tear.)

neat and practical for your kiddos toys

You must go to Bath & Body Works this weekend (if you haven’t already.) Hello??? Labor Day sales event?? Holla for some serious savings!! All their delicious Fall scents are out. I stocked up on 5 soaps, wallflowers and a couple of candles. Autumn is burning right now.

It’s hard to think about crisp leaves, apple cider and pumpkins when it’s 98 degrees outside, but I’m trying.

As I’m typing this, all I can smell is our white bean soup that’s cooking in the crock pot right now. It’s sooooo good. This is the 4th meal  I’ve made this week. That’s a record. I’m trying to cook at least 2 legit dinners a week. Normally we’ll go out or I’ll make something quick. I’ve actually enjoyed thumbing through my cookbooks and discovering new recipes.

Speaking of all things “Fall,” (because Fall and Football go hand in hand) look what I bought for Stu. I don’t know about your man, but mine is all about his fantasy football teams right now. He’s a die hard Eagles fan btw. We don’t speak of the Cowboys in this house.

Okay, I better sneak in a 30 mn nap before Z wakes up. Have a fab Friday!

    Good Morning!

Zach came down with some kind of bug yesterday and was sick throughout the day and into the night. There is nothing worse than when your baby is feeling under the weather and they can’t tell you how they feel and what hurts. My poor little boo boo. He is still sleeping (at 920am) so hopefully he is snoozing his sickness off.

On a much lighter note, my other baby is doing great. I had my 15 week check up yesterday. You don’t normally get an ultra sound done at 15 weeks, but since my mom was with me, and my Dr. is awesome, we did one any way.

My heart skips a beat whenever I hear our little one’s heart beat. It’s music to my ears.

Check out the little hand on the right. Hiiii baby!!

I know the sex of the baby and not because my dr. told me, but because God spoke to me. It was 2 months ago in church. I felt his message. It was loud and clear. There is no doubt in my mind of what it is. We will have it conformed on Monday Oct 1st. I’ll do a vlog this weekend with my testimony. Promise.

After my appointment, my mom and I went to Target. The only thing I needed was a thermometer but of course, like always, I walked out with way more than that. Two sweaters, and a flannel later…

    Ahem, I said flannels. FLANNELS!!!!!

You know how crazy I am about Target’s line of flannel shirts. I’ve been wearing them for years. Honestly when I grabbed the red and navy off the rack, being pregnant didn’t even cross my mind. I normally wear a xs, so I got a small instead. They run big and if it doesn’t button up once I pop, I’ll just wear it with a tank unbuttoned. Problem solved.

Zach is still sleeping by the way, and it’s 9:45.

My mom left last night, and my heart is sad. I miss her already. My mother-in-law leaves tomorrow am. It’s been a full month of family time for me. I’ve enjoyed every minute. The next time we are going home is Christmas. The next 3.5 months will be tough not seeing my family. It especially sucks for Zach since he’s been so spoiled with getting to know all his grandparents this month. Hard to spend time and see them every day for weeks on end and than go 3.5 months strait without them.

That’s about it for me. I’ve been on a major crock pot kick lately- back to scouring the web for my yummy meals.

    Have a good one!

    Hey!

We had a great day today. My mom and mother-in-law have been here since last week and it’s been pure joy having them. Before we headed out this afternoon, I threw together these vegetarian stuffed peppers. My slow cooker was begging to be used. I had to dig it out and fire it up.

In the crock pot they go.

    You must make these babies.

    Vegetarian Stuffed Peppers

    • Prep: 15 min. Cook: 3 hours
    • Yield: 4 Servings

    • 4 medium sweet red peppers
    • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
    • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded pepper Jack cheese

    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1/2 cup frozen corn
    • 1/3 cup uncooked converted long grain rice
    • 1-1/4 teaspoons chili powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
    • Reduced-fat sour cream, optional

    Directions

    • Cut tops off peppers and remove seeds; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the beans, cheese, salsa, onion, corn, rice, chili powder and cumin; spoon into peppers. Place in a 5-qt. slow cooker coated with cooking spray.
    • Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until peppers are tender and filling is heated through. Serve with sour cream if desired. Yield: 4 servings.

Nutritional Facts 1 stuffed pepper (calculated without sour cream) equals 317 calories, 10 g fat (5 g saturated fat), 30 mg cholesterol, 565 mg sodium, 43 g carbohydrate, 8 g fiber, 15 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 2 starch, 2 lean meat, 2 vegetable, 1 fat.

I tossed together a salad and some garlic bread to accompany our dinner. It was so good that we ate it in our dining room for the first time since we moved in.

    Fancy Schmancy.

Earlier this afternoon, we went to Homegoods and the Halloween decor was in full effect.

I was kind of excited about it.

    Fall is in the air.

When do you start decorating for Halloween?

I usually start pulling stuff out mid- September. I’ve been burning my Yankee Candle spiced pumpkin a lot. I will never get sick of the smell. I love the way it makes our house smell, all warm and cozy.

In other random news, I am in desperate need of finding MAC’S discontinued MV3 Creations perfume.

It it nowhere to be found. Nowhere.

Why does MAC keep discontinuing their best sellers? Obviously this perfume was a favorite and loved by all, and what do they go and do?? They ditched it. #NotCool.

Tomorrow I have an ob appointment. I’m going to ask my Dr. if we can do an ultrasound since my mom and mil is here. They would LOVE to see their second grandchild.

My mom is leaving tomorrow night and Ann is leaving Friday morning, wahhhhhhhhh!!! August has been full of family time. Stu and I won’t know what to do with ourselves when everyone is gone.

Hope you’re having a great week. Hard to believe it’s almost over- not to mention it’s almost September! Cray cray!

    Hi loves-

Hope you had a nice weekend. I know I did.

We had Zach’s last and final (thank the Lord) party yesterday. I have to be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to it. Not that I wouldn’t have loved to see our friends, but I was so tired and just wanted to sleep. Anyway, it turned out to be great and I think everyone had a nice time. Zach is a cake eating pro now.

    pre-cake

They grow up so fast :(

    4 hours old

    Back to the cake-

Zach was more interested in the balloon.

    “gimme that balloon.”

    yup, he liked it.

The party started at 1 and by the time everyone arrived it was more like 1:45. All good. By 330, everyone had left. Nap time for Zach and I.

After our naps, we went for a walk over to our neighborhood playground and swung on the swings. Nice was to end the day.

My mother-in-law has gone unnamed for a year. She didn’t know what she wanted Zach to call her…until yesterday. She has decided on Mimah (Mee-Mah.) So now we have Meems and Mimah. Perfect because they are like two peas in a pod anyway, so why not, right?

This week is going to be crazy. They always are when we have guests in town. Although having my our mom’s here has been such a special treat, especially for Zach.

    Make today a great one!
