I woke up craving runny eggs. They were so good and totally hit the spot.
Figured I’d get something up before I go for a run.
A few weeks ago while Stu was on vacation we did a lot of house stuff. Whenever we go into Lowes, I want to walk out with everything. We got a bird feeder, grilling supplies, and the best buy of all??
My new big leafed plant.
This is as green as I go.
Taaa-daaaa!!
I took such pride in our old plant. I bought it at Ikea 8 yrs ag when it was itty bitty, and it grew to be over 8 ft tall. Unfortunately we couldn’t move it down to Dallas so it’s still in our old house. Whoever moves in gets to be the proud new owners of her :0)
My new plant will thrive. The room it’s in gets a ton of light and I can already see 4 new leaves unraveling. It has lots of room to grow big and tall. Yay!!
Alright, off to run and get some errands done. Happy Monday!
This morning I went to my first class at Pure Barre.
My friend Sarah is hooked on this place and insisted I try it. Have you heard of Pure Barre?
Pure Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective, yet safest way to change your body. Students see results in just 10 classes.
Pure Barre is intelligent exercise. The technique protects your joints as it does not involve any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscle without bulk. The workout launches a full blown attack on the areas of the body all women struggle with: abs, hips, seat and arms. It defies gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up.
The workout requires such focus that you block “life” out for the hour allowing you to obtain the mental benefits achieved in yoga or meditation. A transformed body and a clear head in just one hour- it doesn’t get much better than this.
Yeah, so there you have it. We were 5 minutes into the class and I was already sweating. You guys know me, I’m not a sweater. Intense, but do-able. Charlie, our awesome instructor told me that the more classes I take, the harder it will become and that I’ll only improve on the technique.
Sweet.
So that was my morning. I felt sore as hell really good after class and for some reason decided it was time I go to 24 hr. Fitness and inquire about teaching some spinning classes. I left a message and emailed the fitness manager so we’ll see. I’m going to my first body pump class this weekend. I’m tired of reading about how great it is on other blogs. I’ve gotta see what all the hype is about.
After lunch, Brandon and I took Zach for a walk and brought him to our neighborhood playground. Total mommy fail on my part because I forgot my camera. Zach LOVED the swing. I knew he would because he loves to swing (high) when we go to his little bundles class every week.
This was from 3 weeks ago. Yes, Zach looks absolutely terrified for the first 26 secs, but give him some time and watch how he warms up to it. His laugh melts my heart.
Rewind back to last night. We went to another Mavericks game. Yes, it was my 2nd one in a week. I’m hooked. Really, truly.
As we were walking into the AA arena look what was parked outside the doors.
I almost shit myself. A PEEPS CAR and they were apparently giving out free peeps!! Where the hell was I?
Oh wait, we were sitting up in the clouds. HAHA.
To take the place of the free peeps I missed out on, I dominated this $4 bag of cotton candy.
I mean, who doesn’t go to a basketball game and shove their face with 4 lbs. of cotton candy? Certainly not me.
Tonight is my Meetup.com group happy hour. Ten lovely ladies are attending. I can’t wait to mingle with these chicks. If you live in the Dallas burbs, check out my group. I’m making it a point to schedule something fun every month.
And with those tweets, I’m dragging Brandon to see “Friends with Kids” tonight. He was pushing for “21 Jump Street.” I told him he and Stu could go next week.
Looks cute, huh? You can’t go wrong when Maya Ruldulph, Kristin Wiig and John Hamm are a part of the cast.
Last night I went to my first Mavericks game, yaaaayyyy!!!! I knew I’d love it, and I did. Basketball is such a cushy sport, or as Stu says, “it’s very Lisa friendly.”
I like Basketball because…
it’s easy to follow
the games are relatively short, (like my attention span)
Entertaining to watch. I love the music, kiss cam, dancers, etc.
the fans aren’t drunk a-holes. It’s a pretty chill and relaxed atmosphere actually.
So that’s my case. We’re taking my brother to a game next week, and than back for another Mavs fix the following week. Yup, I’m hooked.
Time to order another Mavs shirt.
Recap from last night: My next challenge is learning about the players and getting down all the bb lingo, haha.
Thanks for all the tweets informing me that Kriss Jenner and Rob Kardashian were in the house to support Lamar. Unfortunately there was no Khloe sightings. Boo.
My date for the evening.
Before we left for the game Zach was hating on his cereal. We tried yogurt and that seemed to be better. I think he likes the feel of the coldness on his gums.
However I’ve noticed that after Zach downs his yogurt-
After all was said and done, this was what my kitchen looked like.
In our kitchen there are three drawers designated solely to Zach. In those drawers are:
boogie wipes (grape and apple)
tons of wet ones
teething rings (in fridge)
endless amounts of bibs/ burp cloths
a bottle of water (bc he loves water now.)
cereal and formula
Earlier today Zach had his little bundles class. We danced, sang and did a few new tumbling tricks. I love these classes for him. It’s adorable to see Zach interact with the other babies in the room. Love.
The RnR Dallas half marathon is Sunday. Yesterday was my last run before the race. I’m giving my legs a rest. I took a spinning class this morning and I’ll do one more tomorrow. It’s awesome because the farthest I’ve run is a measly 5 miles. I’ve done absolutely no training whatsoever. This race should be interesting. At least when I ran the RnR half last September I had an excuse for my disastrous time. It was 5 weeks after I had Zach and I only wanted to do it for the bragging rights :0) This time around I have no excuse. Um, laziness maybe?? Yup, that’s it.
